RubberGreen was founded in 2009 in Belgium, by Olivier Prud’homme with an innovative production and research center based in Frameries, Belgium. Our vision and mission is to become a global leader in rubber circularity: today we recycle and give a second life to more than 10.000 tons of high quality rubber waste each year. By continuously improving and innovating, we aim to contribute to ‘’closing the loop’’ and ensure rubber is continuously reused. While circularity is at the core of our mission and values, we are highly committed to be a responsible corporate citizen, by embracing responsible environmental, social and ethical practices - in our own operations, as well as in our supply chain. This Code of Conduct, published on our website, aims at: communicating our values to our Suppliers and Service providers, sharing our expectations / requirements, mitigating the risks of misconduct in our supply chain, by accomplishing our duty of due diligence, encouraging suppliers to come to RubberGreen with competitive sustainable & responsible innovations. This Code of Conduct is a listing of minimum basic requirements. Our Suppliers are encouraged to introduce and maintain policies, standards, procedures or codes that are stricter than these requirements and expectations. We are committed to collaborative and long-term relationships with Suppliers who share our values.
This Code of Conduct applies to all our Suppliers, regardless if they supply products or services. We expect our Suppliers to work with their own suppliers to ensure that the principles outlined in our Code of Conduct are applied throughout our entire supply chain.
Our Code of Conduct is an integral part of the contractual relationship with our Suppliers. We acknowledge that every Supplier operates independently, however we expect all our Suppliers to adhere to our Code of Conduct, posted on our website. Non-compliance with this Code may lead to corrective measures, including termination of business. We may decide to conduct an extra due diligence/screening (via a questionnaire) and may ask our Suppliers to formally sign our Code of Conduct, when selecting the Suppliers we work with.
All our Suppliers shall work and act in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations at all times, including the laws and regulations in each locality in which they reside or do business. Suppliers are expected to respect all norms and standards, including the relevant United Nations (UN) and International Labor Organisation (ILO) standards.
Suppliers must provide any services and maintain and operate their manufacturing facilities and processes in accordance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety laws/regulations. As applicable, documented safety handling and protection information must be provided to ensure the safety of RubberGreen’s personnel when handling Suppliers’ products or equipment.
Products supplied by our Suppliers shall be compliant with the EU REACH Directive. If a Supplier uses any material subject to REACH reporting obligations, the Supplier must inform RubberGreen and share the chemical composition of their products to support statements of compliance from RubberGreen to EU REACH.
No product supplied by RubberGreen’s Suppliers shall contain any mineral that directly or indirectly finances any armed group that has been identified as a perpetrator of Human Rights abuses.
RubberGreen considers respecting and promoting human rights as an essential part of our responsibility in society, in line with the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights of the United Nations. We do not tolerate any form of child, forced or compulsory labour in our own operations nor in our supply chain. People who provide services to RubberGreen shall do so of their own free will. Working hours - Suppliers shall not exceed the daily and weekly working hours as permitted by laws and regulations in the country where they operate. Wages and benefits - Suppliers shall compensate employees and workers in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This includes minimum legal wage, overtime wages, and benefits.
Suppliers shall not discriminate against race, color, ethnicity or national origin, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, pregnancy, religion, political affiliation, marital status, or other defining characteristics.
We expect our Suppliers to share our commitment to protect the environment, and support us in minimising our environmental impact, especially reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. As part of this, we encourage our Suppliers to measure and reduce their carbon footprint, and share Life Cycle Assessment for all products and related services supplied to RubberGreen upon request.
RubberGreen’s Suppliers shall protect the personal information of RubberGreen’s employees. All our Suppliers must comply with, and not cause RubberGreen to be in violation of, any applicable laws and regulations on the transfer, processing, protection, and retention of personal information, including without limitation the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
